What Success Looks Like at Layfield

Successful Geomembrane Apprentice Technicians at Layfield are self-motivated, highly disciplined, enthusiastic team players that have at least one year of previous construction experience.

In addition, the Geomembrane Apprentice Technician is a safety-focused individual who is adaptable to changing schedules, enjoys working outdoors year-round and is available to travel extensively throughout Canada for up to 24 days at a time.

Language of work : English. Spoken and written.

What You Will Learn :

  • Proper deployment of geosynthetic materials.
  • All aspects of the the installation, including : the welding and seaming of geomembrane liners and environmental containment systems.
  • You will operate plastic fusion welding equipment used in the installation process, such as wedge welders, leisters, tensiometers, etc. and other basic hand tools.
  • Youll help identify and process / equipment improvements.
  • Youll ensure all projects are completed at our industry-leading safety standards and above customer expectations.

What We Look For :

  • Minimum 1 year of construction laborer experience.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs on a regular basis.
  • Availability to travel to different job sites Canada-wide for extended periods of time (up to 24 days).
  • Successfully pass pre-employment or pre-access (drug & alcohol) site testing.
  • Safety-focused individuals who enjoy working within a team.
  • Good analytical skills and sound judgment to resolve issues.
  • Valid drivers license.
