You will identify opportunities to elevate our product offering. You'll be an expert in apparel with knowledge in development, design, and understanding the whole supply chain. You'll be communicative, collaborative, creative and hands-on.

YOU'LL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO :

  • Manage a variety of technical apparel & sportswear projects - within structured timelines and multiple, parallel, development calendars.
  • Engage in tech pack creation - sketches, details, garment construction, trims, fabrics, graphic application, labels, packaging, and BRP garment standards.
  • Maintain and update technical packages and garments standards with the latest information throughout the development cycle.
  • Conduct live fittings internally and communicate subsequent fit comments with spec measurements and instructions to the supplier.
  • Execute concept testing and prototype building to quickly iterate on ideas; fail fast and learn faster.
  • Evaluate, analyze & measure sample / proto materials to ensure accuracy when compared to technical package, quality of execution, and attainment of target costs.
  • Conduct critical analysis of existing garments / fabrics to engineer new solutions.
  • Enter technical, coloration and customs information into database.
  • Collaborate with design, pattern, purchasing and product teams to achieve departmental objectives.
  • Interpret data / test results and develops action plans.
  • Work on multiple project schedule coordination and tracking within a fast-paced product development environment.
  • Work collaboratively across divisions to make sure everyone is aligned.
  • Communicate with overseas makers daily.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as required.

YOU'LL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES :

  • A technical expert with love of apparel development and prototyping.
  • Motivated self-starter, with the ability to complete project goals with minimal supervision with high attention to details and quality of work.
  • A planner with logical and analytical thinking, time management skills, and judgment to prioritize projects.
  • Outside the box thinker with a documented history of problem solving.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate.
  • A strong communicator with strong verbal and written communication and people skills.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience of experience in a similar role, with focus on creative problem solving for consumer products.
  • College Degree in an apparel related field, or equivalent of work experience.
  • Knowledge of materials, fabrics and garment construction, fitting and specifications applied graphic processes and fashion / gear lifecycle.
  • Experience in technical clothing
  • Good logic and time management skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of Illustrator is a must; InDesign a strong asset; Excel, PPT and Word expected.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. French speaking area, so bi-lingual is an asset.
