Water Resources Engineer

We currently have an opening for a Water Resources Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will collaborate and deliver water resources, infrastructure, and transportation projects across BC. Projects encompass watershed management, hydrology, hydrotechnical engineering, drainage engineering, and coastal / shoreline engineering, serving municipal and regional governments, transportation, and natural resources.
Responsibilities
- Involvement in a variety of project phases including planning, design, tendering, and construction.
- Site visits to assess project sites, conduct construction field reviews, or complete emergency flood response services.
- Hydrological analysis and watershed modelling.
- Assessment of climate change impacts to support planning and design of infrastructure.
- Hydraulic analysis and modelling of creeks / rivers / channels, culverts, bridges, and water management structures.
- Hydraulic analysis and modelling of drainage and stormwater systems.
- Statistical analysis of hydrometeorological datasets.
- Mapping and spatial analysis of GIS data.
- Hydrotechnical design of water management infrastructure and flood protection systems such as dikes, bank erosion / scour protection, shoreline erosion protection, inlet / outlet structures, spillway channels, culverts, bridges, weirs, sediment basins, and wetlands.
- Technical writing and preparation of client deliverables.
- Project coordination and management.
- Proposal preparation.
- Meeting project requirements in a timely and effective manner.
Qualifications
Undergraduate degree in engineering or applied sciences from an accredited university; a graduate degree and / or water resources focus is an asset.Registered, or eligible for registration, as a Professional Engineer with EGBC.5+ years of experience.Experience analyzing and designing a variety of solutions for water resources projects.Experience using water resources software such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, HEC-SSP, R, Raven, and PCSWMM.Experience with GIS and spatial analysis software such as QGIS, Manifold, or ArcGIS.Ability to work in both collaborative team environments and independently.Highly self-motivated with excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.Willingness to travel occasionally to project sites.Career Path
