Job Summary
Reporting to the Design & Submittal Director, the Application Engineer prepares bids based on client requests, collaborates with sales to understand client needs, communicates changes to the initial project plan, and releases approved bids for production, coordinating between factory and client.
Responsibilities
Read and interpret project specifications, mechanical plans, electrical and control diagrams.Select mechanical components such as fans, heat exchangers, cooling and heating components.Prepare the bid drawing request for the appropriate department and coordinate the bid kickoff meeting.Confirm the project schedule in collaboration with the factory and the sales department.Confirm the final estimate based on required supplier quotes and ensure that project costs align with sales and the estimated quote.Revise the quote if necessary to meet the client’s expectations.Send the project bid package to the engineer and coordinate with the sales department until approval.Prepare a launch package for the project bid, gather all final estimates and supplier quotes, and coordinate delivery dates with the order desk.Coordinate the production kickoff meeting with the factory and initiate production.Follow up on the project for any additional requests until delivery.Experience and Training
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Systems Engineering, or any other relevant field of study.Minimum of 5 years of experience in HVAC.Specialized Knowledge
Good understanding of air handling unit design.Strong communication skills.Ability to work as part of a team.Basic knowledge of AutoCAD.Proficiency in Microsoft Office.Functional French (an asset).Proficiency in English is required (full command for U.S. client communication).Seniority Level
