Our client is a dynamic and rapidly growing chemical manufacturing company specializing in the production of products for a variety of industries. As a smaller, close-knit team, they pride themselves on delivering high-quality products and exceptional customer service.

They are seeking a motivated and experienced Production Supervisor to lead and oversee our production, ensuring they continue to meet the needs of clients while maintaining operational excellence.

Position Summary

Our clients is looking for a Production Supervisor to lead the production team and drive operational excellence through continuous improvement. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely and compliant execution of production plans, while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, cost control, and environmental responsibility. As a leader in the organization, you will play a key role in creating a safe and efficient work environment and ensuring that production goals are met on time, every time.

A day in the life of...

  • Production Planning : Build and manage the Detailed Production Schedule (DPS) , collaborating with Production and Customer Service to ensure alignment with business and customer demands.
  • Safety & Leadership : Lead the team in maintaining a strong safety culture by enforcing safe work practices in classified environment (explosion proof), ensuring compliance with safety procedures, and conducting regular safety checks and inspections.
  • Quality Assurance : Ensure that all finished products are manufactured to the highest quality standards, following manufacturing instructions and compliance requirements.
  • Facility & Equipment Maintenance : Oversee the cleanliness and proper maintenance of production areas, including all installations, ensuring adherence to best manufacturing practices.
  • Continuous Improvement : Lead continuous improvement initiatives using basic problem-solving tools and foster a culture of knowledge-sharing across teams to enhance productivity and process efficiency.
  • Team Development : Ensure your team’s skills and competencies align with production requirements by overseeing training, safety, and hygiene compliance in line with development plans.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration : Maintain constant communication with internal stakeholders (Production, QC, Maintenance, Safety Team, and Customer Service) to address issues promptly and ensure smooth operations.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Work with team to ensure production plans are followed and aligned with customer service and planning. Monitor key production metrics to achieve on-time and in-full delivery while maintaining quality standards.
  • Lead Health and Safety initiatives and ensure compliance with all relevant standards, conducting inspections and meetings as necessary. Ensure all team members are following safety protocols and housekeeping standards.
  • Track and monitor production performance, identifying opportunities for improvement. Ensure that lines are operating at desired production levels.
  • Monitor attendance, ensure punctuality, and address behavioral issues or non-compliance. Actively manage shift start times and breaks to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Lead, engage, and motivate your direct reports, driving team performance and providing the support needed to achieve objectives.

    • What will make you successful

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a functional production or operations role within the chemical manufacturing industry, ideally in an explosion-proof facility (Class 1 Div 1).
  • Proven experience in managing, engaging, and motivating a team to achieve production goals.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify production issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Skilled in using MS Office and Outlook to support communication, reporting, and documentation.
  • The ability to exercise sound judgment in high-pressure situations and make timely decisions that align with operational goals.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to confront and address non-compliance and performance issues in a constructive manner.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment through proper housekeeping, safety practices, and strict adherence to regulations.
  • Ability to effectively manage and deploy staff to meet production objectives while maintaining a focus on team development and performance.
