Taylor MacLellan Cochrane traces its roots in the Annapolis Valley to 1835 when the founding Partners opened the first law office in the Kings County Shire Town of Kentville. Since then, Taylor MacLellan Cochrane has grown to become one of the largest rural law firms in Nova Scotia serving clients throughout the Atlantic Provinces with locations in Kentville and Windsor.

We are currently seeking a full-time Legal Assistant to join our Foreclosure Team at our Kentville location.

Responsibilities

The Legal Assistant will provide assistance / support to team paralegals and lawyers. This will include drafting correspondence / documents with accuracy and timely completion using document assembly software, filings with the Court. File management of confidential information, updating lawyers’ schedules, interacting with and meeting clients in a professional manner.

Qualifications

Experience with law office procedures and paralegal diploma, Cosmolex, Word Perfect, Hot Docs, Microsoft Office and other software would be an asset. This position will require the ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills are critical along with excellent communication skills. Experience desirable but not essential. Training will be provided for the right candidate.
