The Telecommunications and Networking Technician will participate in the design, integration, deployment, maintenance and operation of networks in electric utilities and industrial systems.

Telecommunications and / or networking engineering technology diploma, or, any relevant combination of education and experience6 to 10 years of relevant experienceExperience with maintenance, installation and operation of wide area and local networks including digital microwave, UHF, VHF, PLC, SCADA, RTUs and telephonyExperience with Optical OC3 Multiplex, OC3 fibre and T1 circuitsExperience with fibre optic cable splicing and terminationKnowledge of network monitoring and troubleshooting toolsKnowledge of different network management and security protocols, routing and traffic analysisKnowledge of network management and operation softwareKnowledge of various standards for telecommunications transmissionAvailability for working remotely based in a BC city with a medium to large airportAsset : Knowledge of protection and control systems in an electric utilityAsset : Knowledge of major electrical equipment testing and commissioning proceduresAn overview of BBA’s total Awards
