Our Brand Creative team works to refine and grow Coursera's brand, aiming to engage learners worldwide through outstanding marketing across various platforms. Our writers and designers collaborate to support Coursera's main areas-individual learners, businesses, universities, governments, and degree programs- anyone, anywhere can access world-class learning .

As a Senior Creative Copywriter Manager for Brand & Creative, you'll play a critical role in shaping and developing the tone and voice of our brand through all communication channels and directing a talented crew of creative writers. As an ardent writer and brand steward, you'll ensure our messaging connects and resonates with our B2B and B2C customers across a range of creative executions.

Your day-to-day work will be marked by close collaboration with designers, marketing leads, and brand strategists. You will oversee and craft compelling copy across various marketing touchpoints, including digital advertising, social channels, print collateral, presentations, events, and video storytelling. You'll play a crucial role in promoting Coursera's culture and values by working with colleagues and partners across functions, offering support and advice to foster exceptional writing practices.

Responsibilities :

  • Guide, motivate, and mentor a team of creative writers to enhance their skills, carry out projects effectively, and deepen their knowledge while nurturing a healthy remote-first, DEI culture.
  • Create and execute a brand communication strategythat connects Coursera with diverse audiences and strengthens brand awareness by maintaining and evolving voice and tone guidelines across all marketing channels.
  • Play a leading role in developing the strategy, naming, and messaging guidelines by working closely with the Marketing and Brand Creative teams.
  • Manage multiple projects and collaborate closely with designers and marketing leads to deliver impactful creative campaigns.
  • Explore and integrate emerging digital platforms and technologies (like AI)into our storytelling and content distribution strategies.
  • Champion quality and excellence in writing, ensuring every communication aligns with established brand standards.

Qualifications :

  • 10+ years of experience as a copywriter or equivalent combination of education and innovative work that demonstrates a similar level of expertise in global brand advertising or in-house roles.
  • 3+ years of experience directly managing creative writers, with a proven ability to hire, coach, and develop talent within a team.
  • An effective communicator with a demonstrated ability to present creative concepts and messaging rationale to stakeholders using clear oral and written presentation skills.
  • Proven experience and success conceptualizing and executing effective messaging, from developing creative briefs to supporting customer acquisition and awareness campaigns.
  • Deep understanding of customer acquisition and retention, with expertise in developing and leveraging various content strategies to attract and retain customers effectively.
  • Proficiency in working independently within a fast-paced, agile environment, managing multiple projects of varying complexities.
  • Experience or familiarity with using AI tools and technologies to enhance writing processes and content creation is a plus
