Job Overview
Reporting to the Manager, Community and Events, the Senior Event Marketing Specialist is responsible for leading the planning, project management and impeccable execution of successful signature events that drive brand awareness, engagement and support the achievement of business objectives.
The incumbent has expertise in creating memorable experiences that align with strategy, brand and business objectives. This role will develop strong partnerships with senior executives and regional teams to integrate marketing objectives into event strategies and deliver compelling brand experiences that drive business results.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive event marketing plans for signature events, conventions nationwide with broker partners and various corporate internal and external events, including community and marketing sponsorship opportunities.
- Incorporate marketing and business objectives into all event plans and ideate on best-in-class experiences that meet or exceed objectives.
- Act as primary event planner, responsible for every stage, from ideation and budgeting to logistics to developing event-related marketing materials and post-event analysis.
- Collaborate with many internal and external stakeholders to develop, order, track and deploy creative marketing assets and promotional items for events.
- Conduct site visits to evaluate potential event locations that align with brand and budget.
- Prepare internal event attendees for their roles and responsibilities at events.
- Manage event budgets and timelines, ensuring all deliverables are completed on time and within budget.
- Develop and maintain an events calendar that includes all meetings, applicable sponsorships and events.
- Shape innovative and impactful hybrid event experiences as needed.
- Provide support to colleagues on the marketing team as needed with the activation of local, national and enterprise-wide events, including but not limited to supporting community events, community sponsorships , coordinating largescale in-person employee meetings, and communicating with external partners.
- Analyze event performance metrics and provide recommendations for future improvements and optimizations.
- When necessary, be flexible and work or travel on varied hours including on weekends and evenings.
Qualifications
- Minimum 8 years of event marketing or event sponsorship experience.
- Bachelor's degree or college diploma in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration or related discipline.
- Proven track record of developing and delivering high-profile events from ideation to execution to generate positive brand awareness.
- Superior organization skills, with the ability to lead and move forward multiple high-priority projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven ability to build relationships internally at all levels of the organization and externally due to confident and collaborative interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated individual with the ability to work independently and take initiative to rally colleagues as well as to thrive as a team player.
- Strong technical skills in digital programs and platforms like Excel, Cvent, Eventbrite, MS Forms, Teams, Benevity, budgeting software, etc.
- Committed to excellence, quality, attention to detail and problem solving.
- Strong event production and audio-visual technical abilities.
- Strong research, project management, and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated experience writing / editing marketing materials, proposals, presentations and communications.
- Able to travel to act as on-site event lead across Canada.
- Experience in insurance an asset.
- Ability to speak and write in French an asset.
