The Opportunity
At OpenText, we're hiring a highly technical cloud computing architect to help with the transformation and modernization of our current workloads and helping the organization develop technical expertise and capacity.
This role will deliver proof-of-concept projects, topical workshops, and lead implementation projects. You will have the opportunity to define the technologies to be used, and responsible for the delivery of pipelines for product development and releases into production.
This job requires you be able to work autonomously, in collaboration with others in Technology services as well as Engineering, and Customer Service at the direction of the Senior Director of Cloud Service Operations.
Your work will have high visibility by other department members and management, frequent communication with your team and others concerning projects and issues is expected.
What It Takes
- BA / BS degree or 10+ years of professional
- 10+ years of IT Infrastructure experience
- 5+ years of s / w engineering
- Certified GCP or AWS Cloud solutions Architect
- Experience facilitating discussions with senior leadership regarding technical / architectural trade-offs, best practices, and risk mitigation
- Direct hands-on experience leading the design, development and deployment of business software at scale or current hands-on technology infrastructure, network, compute, storage, and virtualization experience
- Experience with SRE best practices and methodologies
- Experience with software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile / iterative methodologies
- Experience with integration of GCP cloud services with on-premises technologies.
- Experience with IT compliance and risk management requirements (eg. security, privacy, SOX, HIPAA etc.)
- Hands-on knowledge of GCP or AWS services
- Strong track record of implementing GCP and or AWS services in a variety of distributed computing environments
- Ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges
- Leading highly available and fault-tolerant enterprise and web-scale software deployments
- Infrastructure automation through DevOps scripting (E.g. Terraform, PowerShell, Ansible etc)
- Configuration management using Anthos, Terraform, Chef & Puppet
- Strong practical Linux and Windows-based systems administration skills in a Cloud or Virtualized environment
- Experience managing data center operations, including data assurance, monitoring, alerting and notifications
