THE ROLE
With 700 rooms and a maximum occupancy of 900, some of our guests are just passing through, while others may stay for up to one year. This is no ordinary hotel operation. We are providing a service to the Canadian Armed Forces population, who are living, working and studying while staying with us.
Under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager, the General Labourer operates industrial vacuum cleaners to remove dirt, heavy debris and other refuse. They wash windows, interior walls and ceilings. They empty trashcans and other waste containers. The General Labourer will clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas. They will troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on heating, cooling and ventilation, plumbing and electrical systems, and contact tradespersons for major repairs.
QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED
Education, Certifications and Licenses
High school diploma AND some experience in a related field
An acceptable combination of education, training, and experience will also be considered
A valid Driver’s License (Ontario)
Experience
Experience in cleaning
Experience in minor maintenance and repairs
Competencies
Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.
