Most conventional treatment methods fall short, resulting in the need to transport wastewater to off-site processing plants. This multi-billion-dollar problem poses substantial long-term risks to the environment, human health, industries and communities.

Axine Water Technologies is the world leader in electrochemical oxidation technology for industrial wastewater treatment. Our mission is to establish a new industry standard for the cost-effective destruction of per and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), pharmaceuticals, solvents, and other persistent organic contaminants.

Key Responsibilities

Electrical and Automation Design

  • Electrical design for containerized water treatment systems including single line diagrams, electrical load lists and cable lists.
  • Instrument specification / selection.
  • Control panel design.
  • Coordinate with process engineers on control narrative and shutdown key documentation.

PLC / HMI Development

  • PLC programming predominantly for Siemens-based control systems (also Click, C-More, VTScada).
  • HMI programming in Ignition.
  • Assist with development of Axine’s remote-monitoring Network Operations Center (NOC) platform.

    • Installation and Commissioning

  • Develop scopes of work for third-party installation of electrical / automation systems.
  • Provide guidance / inspection during installation.
  • Commission systems at Axine’s assembly facility for factory acceptance testing (FAT) and in the field during site acceptance testing (SAT).

    • Operations Support

  • Provide remote response / troubleshooting to alarms at operating sites.
  • Maintain electrical / automation documentation for operating systems.

    • Collaboration and Innovation

  • Collaborate with Engineering Team : Work closely with our talented engineers to optimize designs from an electrical / control standpoint.
  • Innovation : Promote the adoption of new technologies and methods to improve system performance and reduce costs.

    • Requirements

    Qualifications / Requirements / Other

  • Education : Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent technologist diploma with ability to seal drawings.
  • Professional designation : P.Eng or ASTTBC.
  • Experience : Minimum of 5 years’ experience with process facilities / water treatment plants or other relevant multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Technical Skills : Proficient in Siemens and Click PLC Ladder Logic, SFC, C-More, VTScada and Ignition HMI, SQL DB, AutoCAD, MS Office, Industrial Networking. Strong troubleshooting, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Location : This role will be based at Axine’s assembly facility (currently Mitchell Island, Richmond, BC) three days per week with the option to work remotely two days per week. Periodic travel to customer sites in the USA and internationally will also be required.
