About the Role:
The HR Business Partner provides strategic and operational HR support to business leaders, partnering closely with management to deliver people solutions aligned with organizational objectives. This role supports employee relations, performance management, talent development, and compliance with a fast paced, operational environment.
Reporting
The HR Business Partner reports directly to the Senior Manager, Human Resources & Payroll.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Partner with leaders to identify people-related KPIs, such as employee relations trends, performance management outcomes, turnover, and absenteeism, and translate HR data and insights into actionable recommendations.
- Support the application, development, review, and continuous improvement of HR policies, procedures, and programs to ensure alignment with business needs and employment legislation.
- Coach leaders on effective people management, accountability, and engagement practices.
- Identify people-related risks and recommend proactive mitigation strategies to support operational continuity.
- Lead or support investigations, conflict resolution, and corrective action processes in alignment with the Employee Policy Manual.
- Support talent management initiatives, including succession planning, development planning, and organizational design.
- Collaborate with other Human Resources team members to support recruitment activities and onboarding processes.
- Support change management initiatives and organizational effectiveness efforts.
- Interpret and apply HR metrics and insights to inform decision-making.
- Support disability management, accommodation, and return-to-work processes in collaboration with internal and external partners.
- Ensure consistent application of HR practices across assigned client groups.
- Coordinate and collaborate with external immigration counsel and internal stakeholders to support work permit compliance, renewals, and documentation for foreign workers.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Strong working knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practices.
- Demonstrated experience supporting leaders in employee relations and performance management matters.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, operationally complex environment.
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in a Human Resources Business Partner, HR Generalist, or similar role.
- Experience working in a regulated, operational, or safety-sensitive environment is considered a strong asset.
- Aviation, aerospace, MRO, or transportation industry experience is considered an asset, but not required.
- Experience interpreting and applying the Canada Labour Code and related employment legislation is considered an asset.
