The school is located on an island in the beautiful community of God’s Lake Narrows which has 100 residents and is approximately one and half hours flying time northeast of Winnipeg.
This lakeside community offers services such as a northern store, grocery store, federal nursing station, community hall and a fishing lodge.
God’s Lake Narrows is on one of Manitoba’s prime fishing lakes and is an outdoorsman’s paradise. The successful candidate will assume teaching duties in this multi-graded setting (Nursery to Grade 4).
Qualifications : Bachelor of Education Degree and valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate (or eligibility for) A sound knowledge of Manitoba Early Years curricula A sound knowledge and experience with school-based technology Knowledge of literacy (Guided Reading) and numeracy (Guided Math) programming Experience with integrating Indigenous culture and land-based teaching into curriculum Strong classroom management skills Experience working with students with unique needs A commitment to differentiated instruction A willingness to inquire into best practices and reflect on practices A team player committed to the belief that all students can learn Self-motivated Previous Early Years teaching experience including experience in multi-graded classrooms.
