Thales requires a Warehouse Lead who will be integral in the success of daily operations relating to the timely and efficient flow of material and equipment through the warehouse. Manual and automated functions include but will not be limited to the processing of receipts, shipping requirements, inventory control related tasks and material routing functions to / from the warehouse in support of operations.
Position Summary
Thales requires a Warehouse Lead who will be integral in the success of daily operations relating to the timely and efficient flow of material and equipment through the warehouse. Manual and automated functions include but will not be limited to the processing of receipts, shipping requirements, inventory control related tasks and material routing functions to / from the warehouse in support of operations.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Oversee daily warehouse operations, ensuring the effective and timely execution of logistics activities including receipt, storage and dispatch of material.
- Coordinate the activity of the warehouse team to support an uninterrupted flow of goods and / or services while ensuring compliance with Quality & Safety policy.
- Supervise, direct, coordinate and actively participate in daily warehousing functions.
- Receiving : verify and inspect incoming material and documentation, process goods receipts; manage non-conformance of incoming and in-stock material; oversee warehouse dock and incoming freight activity.
- Shipping : prepare domestic, US & international outgoing freight according to packaging specifications; complete documentation and labeling while complying with customs & export requirements; schedule shipping with couriers and freight forwarders; track freight and resolve issues in distribution.
- Material Picking, kitting, issue and storage : initiate outbound deliveries for inventory picking and kitting; process requests for spares; issue, pick, package and move material; distribute parts for customer delivery; ensure accuracy of material demand and delivery documentation.
- Inventory and material management : monitor stocking levels and master data; initiate demand generation and purchase requisitions; track material availability and delivery dates; perform consumption analysis and adjust stocking levels; manage shelf life and dispositions; conduct stocktaking, cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies.
- Asset management : oversee the movement of material assets, repair and overhaul activity, and calibration programs; track status and expedite availability from repair to maintain stocking levels.
- Team development and process improvement : lead and train warehouse staff; support continuous improvement initiatives; communicate with internal and external stakeholders; ensure accurate data entry into ERP systems; prepare productivity, inventory and safety reports; support KPIs with the Warehouse Manager.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience in a supply chain environment.Experience in Supply Chain / Procurement & Warehousing environments.Working knowledge of warehousing, purchasing, distribution processes and systems.Experience using SAP or other ERP systems.Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree, Trade Certification and / or equivalent experience.Defense industry experience is an asset.Familiarity with the Defence Resource Management Information System (DRMIS).Knowledge of ITAR and Canadian export / import controls and related permit processes.Special Position Requirements
