Director, Business Technology - Irving Oil

Providing a safe and reliable supply of energy requires a focus on quality along every point of their extensive global supply chain. Irving relies on a diverse network of quality crude oil suppliers from around the world, with product arriving by ship at Irving Canaport, their deep-water marine terminal in Saint John, NB.

In addition to their refineries, they have an integrated marketing and distribution network across Atlantic Canada, Quebec and the U.S. Northeast; European blending operations in Amsterdam, Netherlands; trading operations in London, United Kingdom; and they are a supplier of transportation fuels, home heating oil and commercial and agricultural fuels in Ireland.

Irving Oil operates three reporting segments through an integrated supply chain that drives value through flexibility of crude sources, strategically located crude-handling and product terminals, two strategically located refineries and a retail network with a trusted brand.

The Director, Business Technology is responsible for leading the modernization of customer-facing and business-enabling technologies and solutions. They will lead the planning, strategizing, and innovation required to create the Technology Modernization plan aligned with Company Strategies and the Enterprise Architecture plan. They will oversee the prioritization, delivery, and execution of that plan through a portfolio of initiatives. This will require strong collaboration with corporate departments and operational business lines to support the business plan and strategy.

The Director Business Technology is expected to deliver on growth, change, and strategic initiatives, while maximizing value and outcomes utilizing a mix of in-house and third-party resources to deliver the objectives of the business plan. This role is primarily contributing to the modernization of customer-facing and business-enabling technologies in support of the five-year business plan. The Director reports to the CIO and leads a team of ~25.

The role is located on site in Saint John, New Brunswick.
