JOB SUMMARY

The Chief Information Security Office is responsible for delivering and overseeing cybersecurity and digital risk management programs across all City business lines, including strategic enablement and emerging threats identification, policy and implementation oversight, digital risk management, and security governance and culture transformation.

The Strategic Enablement & Emerging Security Unit is responsible for forecasting future threats and shaping security strategy for all City operations.

You are responsible for leading the identification of emerging cybersecurity threats and opportunities relevant to the public administration, critical infrastructure, and protection of constituent’s data. You are responsible to ensure the development of effective long-term strategies to protect City’s digital’s assets, data, and reputation.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Completion of a 4-year university degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.

Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience in cybersecurity, digital risk management, intelligence analysis, or policies development.

CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENCES

Related Information / Technology Security certification is desirable (e.g. CISSP, CISM, CISA, CRISC, SABSA, CAP, EC-Council)

KNOWLEDGE

  • Understanding of the global cybersecurity threat landscape and politiclaly, social, or financially motivated cyber crime
  • In depth knowledge of industry leading cybersecurity solutions, products and service offerings
  • In depth knowledge on the cutting edge concepts, principles, and trends relevant to a tehcnology and cyber secuirty domains
  • Practical understanding of information risk management, stratgeic forecasting and or polices development frameworks
  • Relevant legislation and regulations (e.g. Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act)
  • Must be familiar with all applicable health and safety legislation, have
  • knowledge of any potential or actual danger to health or safety in the work
  • place, and have knowledge of appropriate actions to be taken in order to ensure
  • the health and safety of staff in accordance with applicable legislation and City policies and procedures.
