DUTIES
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support and aid with the development, implementation and analysis of new technologies that improve the learning process.
- Research, recommend, create and implement appropriate educational technologies and tools.
- Maintain current knowledge of research pertaining to higher education, emerging technologies, digital pedagogy, mobile applications, universal design and learning theory.
- Assist OLFMs, Faculty and staff in improving their ability to model effective integration of educational technologies.
- Collaborate with partners to support OLFMs, Faculty and staff in the use of academic technologies and active-learning strategies.
- Ensures timely and professional communication with OLFMs, Open Learning students and other staff related to educational technologies.
- Provide consultation, advice and testing within Open Learning and with partners, including IT, on the provision, configuration and support of learning technology platforms and systems, including system upgrades and enhancements.
- Develops online multimedia, including testing and adjustments as necessary to ensure proper functioning of interactive multimedia including in live server environments.

QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION :
Bachelor’s degree in related field such as Digital Media / Arts; Learning Technologies; Instructional Development; Information Technology, plus 2 years post graduate studiesEXPERIENCE :
Four years’ related experience in an interactive multimedia role, including :Two years supporting or administering in educational technologies and learning platforms (, Wordpress, MediaWiki, GitHub, Pressbooks, web conferencing, Kaltura)
Two years in an online education development and delivery environment, including assessing and implementing training and coaching in an online environmentTwo years’ experience in educational multi-mediaTwo years working in a complex development and production setting requiring strong project management and coordination skillsOnline synchronous and asynchronous delivery methodsEvent management / training workshopsSKILLS KNOWLEDGE OR ABILITIES RELATED TO THE JOB
Ability to maintain currency and knowledge in synchronous and asynchronous Learning Management Systems in an online environmentAbility to research online technologies and best practicesAbility to promptly learn innovative and contemporary technologies, and related software skills, and to test, configure and thoroughly understand themAbility to develop online learning resources using innovative technologies that are aligned with institutional and departmental objectives and identified learning needsKnowledge and understanding of instructional design as it relates to course deliveryDemonstrated ability to plan, coordinate and organize work, including conferences, courses, workshops and webinarsAdvanced knowledge of computer software platforms such as Moodle, WordPress, and KalturaExcellent written and oral communication skills, including training facilitation and presentation skillsExcellent interpersonal skills, with a focus on coaching / motivational skills, enthusiasm and positive attitudeKnowledge and experience of learning technologies used in the post-secondary environmentAbility to collaborate with a diverse set of audiences with wide ranging understanding of open and online learningAbility to work as part of a team and independently, while taking initiativeWORKING CONDITIONS
