Sailun Tire Americas – Warranty Engineer

Position Reporting to Warranty / Quality Manager

Summary / Objective

The Warranty Engineer is responsible for Canadian Warranty Claims and PLC reception, inspection, evaluation and recording. This position is responsible for all vendor factory warranty batch submissions and follow up including a monthly summary report. This position also coordinates all DTI vendor specifications and updates within our database / Navision. This position is also responsible to monitor and review all DTI vendors regulatory compliance testing, with the main focus of timely and accurate completion of Canadian warranties and PLC inspections.

Essential Functions

Evaluation and analysis of service return tires from Liability Claims

Evaluation and analysis of Canadian Warranty claims

Provide technical support for the Warranty group as required

Factory Batch Warranty submissions

Internal Batch Warranty preparation and processing

Technical assistance, analysis and participation in local tire testing events

Warranty Data Analysis as required

Technical tire specification preparation, maintenance and factory contact for all DTI vendors including Item Card preparation in Navision

Regulatory backup for EWR (Early Warning Reporting) submissions to NHTSA

Prepare and review all Vogue Tyre warranty claims

Responsible to obtain, review and analyze all DTI vendors regulatory testing results for FMVSS 139 and 119.

On time preparation, follow up and reporting on vendor warranty batch submissions.

Other tasks as required including participation in local tire testing events

Travel

Minimal travel to events

Skills and Qualifications

Customer Client Focus, Goal Achievement focus, Strong data skills (Excel). Proficient in office skills (excel, outlook, word). Safety oriented.

Required Education and Experience

Mechanical Engineering Degree / Diploma

Tire Industry experience gained via Process Engineering / Technician or Tire Design is considered an asset

Hands on experience in mechanical engineering, with factory and or manufacturing experience

High proficiency in Excel

SAP is considered an asset

Navision software training is considered an asset

Specific Training Requirements :

DOT 119 & DOT 139 training

ECE 30 7 ECE 54 training

Tire & Rim Assoc. and ETRTO training

DTC Warranty Process training

PLC Claims training

EWR preparation & submissions training
