SUMMARY :

Reports to the Director, Inclusive Learning and works under the direction of the District Counsellor, and the District Coordinator.

Participates as a member of a team to provide support to students with social, emotional, behavioral, and mental health challenges.

QUALIFICATIONS :

Successful completion of a secondary school graduation program or equivalent. Required to have completed a Child and Youth Care Diploma, or Associate Degree, or a Community Social Service Worker Diploma.

Post-Secondary Bachelor degree in Social Work or Child and Youth Care is preferred.

Minimum of 2 years supervised recent and relevant work-related experience with children and youth is required.

Proven ability working with at-risk school-aged children and youth as well as experience running groups with children and youth.

Ability to work independently without supervision.

Valid B.C. Driver's License. Safe driving record; required to transport students in personal vehicle.

Ability to work cooperatively with family, community, and school personnel.

Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.

Ability to follow school and community protocols. Physically capable of performing the duties of the position.

Knowledge of WCB and WHIMIS regulations. Safe work practices.
