Job description

Job Overview

Reporting to the Estimating Manager, as the  Senior Estimator  you will assist in monitoring budgets and managing the day-to-day functions of the Estimating team. You also provide estimating expertise to support the Construction and Sales teams.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include :

  • Overseeing day-to-day Production / Estimating operations of Single-Family homes.
  • Reviewing and distributing job files for purchase, and ensuring completion of all files in a timely manner.
  • Evaluating offers and sending tenders to trade partners and suppliers.
  • Overseeing scheduling and estimating software users and system functionality.
  • Reviewing plans, conducting model estimates, and generating material and labour options.
  • Providing guidance to site and office staff, and assisting in establishing general office procedures while promoting a collaborative environment.
  • Preparing and signing off change requests, and coordinating with Purchasing, Production and Construction teams on project changes.
  • Reviewing invoices and monitoring expenditures to assist management with budget control.
  • Preparing budgets for models, sales and jobs on regular basis as required, while identifying cost savings measures.
  • Fostering positive relationships and maintaining a directory of suppliers and trades, reviewing quotes to remain current on pricing and options.

  • Essential Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 6 years production or estimating experience in residential construction industry.
  • Satisfactory verification of criminal record check.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint and PowerPoint), and estimating software (SupplyPro, BuildPro, NewStar or similar).

    You primarily work in an office setting during regular business hours. Overtime may occasionally be required.
