Land Development Planner

Responsibilities include :

Investigate properties for development feasibility; review Agreements of Purchase and Sale; develop preliminary concepts and budgets for potential projects.

Coordinate submissions for applications for municipal, provincial, and federal planning approvals; liaise with legal, survey, engineering, planning and environmental consultants.

Follow through on regulatory processes to obtain requisite approvals; meet with team and regulatory staff to resolve issues; attend and present at public meetings to describe projects.

Coordinate site servicing design, approvals and tendering of contracts for works; liaise with engineers, landscape architects and contractors and attend site meetings as required.

Assist other departments (Finance, Construction, Property Management) with inquiries related to project financing, permit issuance and general inquiries.

Education and Experience :

3 to 5 years of experience in leading development applications through the municipal planning process.

Post secondary education in planning, architecture or engineering discipline.

Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software is essential, and experience with ACAD is a definite asset.

Ability to coordinate many team players on a project; and ability to work on several projects concurrently.

Strong interpersonal skills, effective communication skills and ability to speak at public meetings and municipal committees.

Experience in working in a fast paced and high volume environment.
