Job description

Position : Linux Operation Consultant

Location : Victoria / Remote

Duration : Months contract + Possible extension

The Business Consultant(s) is required to have the following skills and experience :

  • The Business Consultants at Experience Level are Consultants that can demonstrate in their submitted examples that they have led multi-discipline teams in business transformation initiatives to align business systems with new business processes, using application portfolio management techniques, and have provided and followed a plan to transfer the business from the ‘as is’ structure to the ‘to be’ structure, where they reported to executive level managers, and had managers and senior technical and business staff assigned to the project under their direction.
  • Business Consultants at Experience Level have the skill sets of Business Consultants at Experience Level as well as experience and expertise in applying business transformation methodologies, including operations research and business process re-engineering. Because of the far-reaching effect of implementing business process re-engineering
  • project recommendations, Business Consultants at Experience Level are experienced in effectively communicating with executives and senior management on changes to business operations.
  • In addition to the skills and experience set out above, the Proponents should demonstrate that the proposed Consultant(s) have the following additional skills and experience :
  • Resource will provide day-to-day operational support and administration for any / all technologies supported by the Unix Services team, including but not limited to Red Hat Enterprise Linux through , RHEL Cluster Services, Red Hat Satellite, Ansible, Nagios, Git, Tripwire Enterprise, integration with SAN-based Enterprise Storage, VMWare, and HPE ProLiant DL series hardware technologies.
  • Monitor, identify, troubleshoot, and resolve problems within the RHEL infrastructure and environment as they arise.
  • Work within and adhere to client's IMIT Change / Incident / Problem Management systems and processes while providing support to operational clinical and business systems and services.
  • Assist with implementation of new technologies, services, and upgrades as required.
  • Patch server OS and hardware in accordance with the patching cadence targets.
  • Represent the team and the technologies as a subject matter expect as required for meetings, consultations, and engagements.
  • Provide a bi-weekly progress report to the Client Contract Manager including work carried out and the number of hours, by named resource.
  • Promptly notify the Client Contract Manager of any issues, delays or time / cost overruns that deviate materially from the commitments in the Contract terms or services or may impact the ability of the consultant to meet project expectations / deliverables.
  • At the end of the project, provide a written report detailing work completed, issues outstanding, and lessons learned.
  • Escalate operational issues with responsible application owners.
