Hays has partnered with a construction manager out of Kitchener, Ontario who are looking to add a Project Manager to the team to focus on high-rise construction projects in the Kitchener, Cambridge, Waterloo area.
Your new role
The open role is for an experienced Project Manager, reporting directly to the Construction Manager. He / She will be responsible for the success of the project and driving the project team from concept topletion. The Project Manager will review project progress with internal teams on a regular basis and ensure that the client is up-to-date on the standing / status of the project. They will review budgets monthly, oversee all project dynamics and maintain and develop aprehensive construction schedule. Finally, they will chair weekly meetings, including participating in logistics meetings on site and ensure that all contracts, including subcontracts, arepleted.
What you'll need to succeed
The successful Project Manager candidate will have at least 7 years managing large mid-rise or high-rise residential construction projects. They will be able to schedule, maintain budgets, review construction drawings and contracts, and be able to do all administrative work with the help of two coordinators. They will understand the Ontario Building Code, engineering requirements and other pertinent constructability measures. They must be a strongmunicator both orally and written and be able to work with internal and external teams. Finally, they will have a degree or equivalent, in construction management, engineering or related.
