What is the opportunity?
RBC Cards is one of the leading credit card businesses in Canada and is a strong contributor to RBC’s overall Canadian Banking revenues and profits.
The business has grown tremendously in the last five years, driven by our strong suite of Credit Card products and innovative strategy.
The successful candidate for this role will be tasked with providing strategic oversight for the Cards Lending portfolio including managing products, RBCs credit card installment payment program and other strategic initiatives.
As the Manager, Cards Lending you will partner with product teams, be accountable for the successful execution and integration of business strategies across multiple key stakeholders, and be responsible for enhancing shareholder value creation.
Specifically, you will contribute to the broader Cards business objectives and results by managing the full product lifecycle for our three non-rewards / lending products and executing our installment program
What will you do?
Support management in all stages of the product development and management lifecycle and / or support development and implementation of key initiatives
Execution of installment strategies (pricing, delivery, monitoring) by partnering with credit strategists, marketing and marketing science, digital, risk etc.
Identify areas and develop business cases to accelerate share of wallet and profitability on the lending portfolio to drive balance growth, incorporating financial and market-based objectives
Monitor and report on strategy effectiveness and KPI outcomes relative to expectations including preparing executive level presentations.
Become a SME in lending and installments to become the day to day business lead, partnering with a diverse set of stakeholders
What do you need to succeed?
Must have :
Strategic Mindset - ability to think strategically, integrate information from multiple sources and synthesize complex issues
Experience in analytics and developing data driven strategies
Strong ability to achieve results in the context of complexity, ambiguity and constant change
Highly organized with ability to multitask and shift priorities
Excellent critical thinking skills with ability to resolve issues through innovative solutions
Well-developed interpersonal and influencing skills to build and maintain effective working relationships and elicit cooperation from internal partners
Excellent communication skills (listening, understanding and responding)
Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint
Nice to have :
Cards Knowledge understanding of key credit card business drivers and operations
Experience in a marketing related environment.
Proficient in SQL
