Consultant Youth Psychiatrist The Sherwood Park – Strathcona County Primary Care Network is a group of health care professionals and administrative staff who work with family physicians and their clinic staff. Our caring team provides education and support for managing chronic diseases and mental health concerns, while increasing access to specialists and services within the local community.

We are currently looking for a Consultant Youth Psychiatrist to join our team on a flexible, contract basis.

The intent of the SPPCN Youth Psychiatric Consultation Service is to provide timely access to psychiatric consultation and advice for family physicians and their patients in conjunction with members of the SPPCN Mental Health Team. This would also involve consultation with our physicians working in our Youth Mental Health Clinic. SPPCN consultant psychiatrists see patients in person and work out of our Sherwood Park and Fort Saskatchewan offices.

The Consultation Service typically involves seeing a patient on referral for a single consultation visit, making treatment recommendations to the referring SPPCN physician and, where appropriate, facilitating the patient’s referral on to community-based or tertiary mental health services, with the assistance of the SPPCN mental health and clinical administrative teams.

This opportunity offers excellent flexible clinic hours that can be arranged, to suit the right individual and their current practice.

• and administrative scheduling/support at no cost.

Contract hours can be anytime during the SPPCN's operating hours: Monday, Wednesday, Friday 8:00am – 4:00pm, Tuesday, Thursday 8:00am – 8:00pm
