Career Opportunity

Canadian Linen is searching for a Casual 3rd or 4th Class Power Engineer. The incumbent will be responsible for the overall efficient branch equipment and physical plant and facility. He / she will ensure standardized, safe, and efficient functioning / operation of all equipment, completion of required scheduled maintenance, correct operation of fresh water and wastewater, and the building structure and capability as a production facility.

Job Description :

• Be able to work independently and work cohesively in a team environment.
• Work to maintain daily building operations, maintenance and repairs.
• Operate and maintain all high-pressure steam, hot water heating and all other pressure piping equipment as per ABSA regulations.
• Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot all HVAC equipment.
• Maintain waste water systems by testing and treatment of all system and process loops.
• Operate power tools and machine shop machinery (saws, drills, milling machines, welders)
• Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing routine preventive and corrective maintenance requirements on engines, compressors, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines
• Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
• On problems with higher complexity, consult with supervisor and / or peer mechanics for guidance / instructions to succeed.
• Dismantle machinery and equipment to remove parts and make repairs. Re-assemble and test after repair.
• Assisting outside contractors on major repairs of systems and complex machinery
• Knowledge of fire suppression systems, alarm systems, mechanical, HVAC, electrical, control systems, would be an asset.

Compensation : The hourly rate that Canadian Linen and Uniform Service reasonably expects to pay for this position range is $, depending on circumstances including an applicant’s skills and qualifications, certain degrees and certifications, prior job experience, market data, and other relevant factors.
