We have a new opportunity in Victoria, BC, for an experienced Retail Operations Manager at The Root Cellar Village Green Grocer.

Reporting directly to the COO, you will lead their Store Management Teams in both locations to ensure an extraordinary customer and Team Member experience.

Join this team, fall in love with Green Sauce and embrace their philosophy of no job being too small!A brief overview of what you day as Retail Operations Manager may include : Financial management of both locations, including managing budgets, profit and loss, and financial reporting and delivering budget results to KPIs : revenue, margin, labor, and net profit.

Collaborating with leadership team colleagues from Finance, Procurement, People and Culture, and Marketing teams to deliver operational plans and targets.

Ensuring the delivery of an exceptional Team Member experience through culture-building events and activities, modeling Core Values, training, performance management, and driving a learning and development culture to minimize turnover and retain talent.

Reviewing financial statements to monitor and analyze results to budget and forecast, identifying gaps and opportunities to ensure revenue and profitability targets are consistently achieved and aligned defined objectives, and supporting the development of annual budgets by establishing targets and objectives for revenue growth, productivity, improved margins, expense control, and net profit.

Ensuring retail policies and procedures promote The Root Cellar’s commitment to sustainability and social responsibility and working with the Leadership Teams to continually integrate sustainability practices and social responsibility into the company culture and processes.

RRSP Program.Did we mention the Green Sauce?Our ideal Retail Operations Manager brings : 5+ years in a senior retail operational leadership role with proven ability to plan and manage operational processes for maximum efficiency.

Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field.Superior knowledge of multiple operational functions including finance, customer service, production and employee management.

Experience working in fast-paced, entrepreneurial and dynamic environments. Experience developing budgets, business plans and SOP’s.

Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, (Word, Excel), Email and calendar maintenance, project management applications, and a general aptitude for learning new software and systems.

Strong working knowledge of data analysis and performance metrics using business management software (e.g., SAP, ERP, CRM).
