Highlights of the job

We are hiring up to 1 ( one ) full-time permanent Systems Analyst Web position s working out of Edmonton AB.

As t he Web Systems Analyst you would provide web technology support to the Application Services department and EPCOR as a whole. You are responsible for maintaining operating and enhancing EPCORs custom web applications. In this position you will provide usability focused solutions which delight our customers.

What youd be responsible for

Reporting to the Manager Web & Mobile you would be accountable for but not limited to :

Ensuring the delivery of optimal results against appropriate o perational performance metrics :

Incident Delivery and Responsiveness

Delivery on Change Request estimations

Customer Satisfaction Surveys

System Availability

Process Improvements .

Monitor ing application performance and track ing performance trends including hardware and OS resources .

Ensuring system reliability and availability through proactive system monitoring maintenance and change management .

Providing excellent customer service to our customers. Employ ing open communication and problem-solving skills to resolve customer issues and incidents efficiently and effectively within expected timeframes.

Abiding by all departmental policies and processes for the purpose of consistent support and administrative practices throughout Application Services .

Scheduling and performing deployments on production systems .

Provide on-call support for all web applications .

Whats required to be successful

Completion of a Degr ee in Computer Science or Engin eering or completion of a D iploma in Computer Engineering System Technology or Management Information Systems from a recognized post-secondary educational institute.

4-6 years of related experience in Web Operations and / or Development .

Candidates possessing less than the required years of experience may be considered for a developmental position .

Broad understanding of IT concepts .

Experience with Agile / SCRUM using one or more common programming languages .

Experience in web technologies such as C# MVC Angular ReactJS CSS HTML Bootstrap and JavaScript .

Experience working with technical and non-technical end users .

Experience supporting large public-facing websites or intranets is an asset .

F amiliar ity with basic networking concepts like load balancers firewalls and domains .

Demonstrated ability to design develop and unit test web solutions.

Ability to comfortably move between tech stacks .

Pro ven track record of ability to diagnose research r ecommend and implement solutions to production problems .

Jurisdiction : CSU52

Class : IT2 ; developmental IT1

Wage : S tarting at $ 56.15 per hour; developmental (IT1) starting at $ 51.42 per hour

Final Wage and Step will be determined at the time of selection and are based on a combination of factors as outlined in the Collective Agreement.

If a candidate is hired at the developmental level starting wage will be determined based on experience at the time of selection.

Hours of work : 75 hours biweekly

Please note the following information :

A requirement of working for EPCOR is that you are at least 18 years of age have successfully completed a post secondary education program (or equivalent) and are legally entitled to work in Canada. A copy of a valid work permit may be required.

Some EPCOR positions require an enhanced level of background assessment which is dictated by law. These positions require advanced criminal record checks that must also be conducted from time to time after commencement of employment.

A technical / practical assessment may be administered during the selection process and this exercise will be used as a part of the selection criterion.

To meet the physical demands required of some positions candidates must be in good physical condition and willing to work in all weather conditions. Clearance on pre-placement medical and drug and alcohol testing may be required.
