Job descriptionNoisy Dusty Outdoors Construction Various locations Commercial Industrial Institutional Residential Prepare estimates of labour and / or material costs Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware Schedule and co-ordinate work on sites Instruct apprentices Supervise other workers Estimate costs and materials Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments 1 to 2 people Hand tools Own transportation Bending, crouching, kneeling Handling heavy loads Large workload Physically demanding Tight deadlines Work with minimal supervision Accurate Efficient interpersonal skills Reliability Team player Values and ethics Punctuality Dental plan Disability benefits Health care plan Vision care benefits Group insurance benefits Mileage paid Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP) Free parking available Parking available
