Cumberland Paving and Contracting is part of Miller Paving Atlantic, based in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. Cumberland Paving and Contracting provides the public and private sectors with road construction, paving, road and structure rehabilitation, engineering construction, aggregate-based materials, highway operations, and maintenance services

Minimum Qualifications

• 1-2 years experience operating a small excavator
• Ability to read and interpret drawings
• Ability to travel with the crew throughout the local area

Day in the Life

Calling all heavy equipment operators for a seasonal role! You’ll be the powerhouse behind the controls of 5 ton to 13-ton excavators. Your responsibilities will include safely maneuvering equipment to perform tasks such as digging trenches, grading land, and lifting materials, ensuring trenches are excavated to the proper depth / grade. You’ll also be responsible for performing all fluid level checks and conducting routine maintenance on the equipment, cleaning, servicing, and performing minor repairs to ensure optimal performance. Conducting pre-operational checks on equipment, completing maintenance records, and daily equipment logs will also all be crucial to the job.
