Get to know Okta

Okta is The World’s Identity Company. We free everyone to safely use any technology anywhere, on any device or app. Our Workforce and Customer Identity Clouds enable secure yet flexible access, authentication, and automation that transforms how people move through the digital world, putting Identity at the heart of business security and growth.

At Okta, we celebrate a variety of perspectives and experiences. We are not looking for someone who checks every single box - we’re looking for lifelong learners and people who can make us better with their unique experiences.

Join our team! We’re building a world where Identity belongs to you.

Position Overview : Extensibility is at the heart of how Auth0 differentiates how developers solve for their identity needs and we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Technical Product Manager to lead the charge in driving Auth0 Actions, our core extensibility framework.

Actions are secure, versioned functions written in that execute at certain points within the Auth0 platform and are used to customize and extend Auth0's capabilities with custom logic authored by developers themselves, but hosted and executed by Auth0.

You will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our strategy to leverage Actions to solve for a variety of developer needs while at the same time expanding how different product teams within Auth0 can leverage Actions as a platform to bring more richer feature sets to developers across all our product portfolio.

This is a unique opportunity to influence and expand Auth0’s core competency leveraging cutting-edge technology at a company building a world where anyone can safely use any technology, powered by their Identity.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement a comprehensive Extensibility strategy leveraging Actions & Webtasks (the backend that powers Actions).

Develop a deep understanding of developer journeys, pro-code customization needs as well as pain points to inform product enhancements that effectively solve for eExtensibility needs.

Gather and communicate core business problems and requirements from customers, prospects, sales, and support to inform product decisions.

Work closely with Design and Engineering to create developer-centric experiences that facilitate seamless Actions discovery and adoption, as well as expansion of use cases.

Act as a bridge between Actions & Webtasks engineering, Product org and Architecture to ensure alignment and successful execution of pro-code extensibility vision.

Utilize data and analytics to monitor and measure the success of Actions feature sets. You will be identifying key metrics to track, analyze, and optimize for your roadmap.

Serve as a product evangelist, both internally and externally, promoting the value of Actions and how it aligns towards a sustainable competitive advantage.

Be comfortable in planning and evolving our backend (Webtasks) that allows Auth0 to offer untrusted pro-code customization capability that powers some of the largest identity use cases on the planet.

Identity and prioritize opportunities that allow respective feature teams to be able to independently manage extensibility touch points and feature richness while still conforming to a cohesive overall extensibility experience.

Identify and prioritize technical debt, advocating for development plans that enhance our ability to deliver high-quality features and minimize breaking changes.

What you bring

Experience working with or ideally building FaaS (Functions as a Service) products running at low latency and enterprise grade scale.

Deep understanding of development workflows for mission critical features (build, test, deploy / promote, observe, troubleshoot).

Proficiency with javascript and to effectively establish deep developer empathy. At minimum you are expected to read and understand how customers are solving their use cases with Actions.

A strong hypothesis driven, data informed mindset. Active data curiosity as well as the ability to self-service basic everyday needs, including writing SQL and an appetite to tinker with various data analytics tools at Auth0 will be a vital asset.

Qualification

Ideally 8+ years in a technology role (technical product management, engineering, professional services etc) with 4+ years of product management or technical product management experience.

Experience building Developer Tools, Enterprise SaaS product, Identity and / or Security products

Experience working in agile development environments.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant field or equivalent practical experience.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
