Job descriptionPatrol Hospital Grounds : Conduct regular rounds of hospital premises, including parking areas, hallways, patient rooms, entrances, and exits, to ensure the safety and security of the site. Monitor Surveillance Systems : Operate security cameras and alarm systems, ensuring any suspicious activity is reported immediately to the appropriate authorities. Access Control : Monitor and control entry points to the hospital, ensuring that only authorized individuals are allowed access to restricted areas. Respond to Emergencies : Act quickly in emergency situations, such as medical emergencies, fire alarms, or security threats. Assist hospital staff as needed during crises and evacuations. Provide Customer Service : Greet and assist visitors, patients, and hospital staff. Provide directions and ensure that guests adhere to hospital policies and procedures. Conflict Resolution : De-escalate tense situations, resolve conflicts, and ensure that all interactions are handled calmly and professionally. Report Writing : Document daily activities, incidents, or accidents accurately. Complete reports on incidents, breaches, and security concerns. Collaboration with Hospital Staff : Work closely with hospital staff and local law enforcement to provide a coordinated security effort and ensure the safety of all parties involved. Enforce Hospital Policies : Ensure that hospital policies, including visitor and patient protocols, are followed. Address any violations in a manner that upholds hospital safety standards. Ability to obtain Security License for the province of Nova Scotia Valid Standard First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a CSA-approved vendor) English (oral and written) fluency is a must Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred. Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF / MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position Please be aware : The UoF / MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position / availability Opportunities for training and professional development. South Shore Regional Hospital is a primary and secondary care hospital. It is a designated district trauma centre with medical, surgical, intensive care, obstetrics and mental health in-patient beds.

- Position : Full-Time Security Guard
- Site : South Shore Regional Hospital
- Location : 90 Glen Allan Drive, Bridgewater, Nova Scotia
- Hours : Rotational Shifts - 0700-1900 / 1900-0700
- Payrate : $20.50
