About the role

This positions reports to the Lockheed Martin, America's Region Senior Manager and is accountable / responsible for the operational and engineering activities as they relate to IT infrastructure, including performance, costs, and schedules.

The successful applicant will be the key liaison between the Lockheed Martin International Infrastructure (I2) teams, Latin America IT teams, the Business Application Services and Tools teams, Digital Workplace teams, as well as other cross functional teams.

This positions goal is to enhance and support our Lockheed Martin Canadian Infrastructure Operations and it's various integrations into the global operational environment.

Responsible for multiple infrastructure domains, including data-centre operations, hosting (server / storage administration, on premise and cloud), and coordinating technical staffing - confirming available budget, communicating with IT managers, and validating resources match project requirements.

This role also involves interfacing with other infrastructure leads across the corporation to represent Canada's interest, coordinate programs of work and initiatives, and communicate on infrastructure matters and policy across the team.

Specific Responsibilities

Planning and execution of all Infrastructure Performance and Digital Communications "IP&DC" (Infrastructure Management and Support Services, Health Management, Network Operations, Voice / Video, WAN, Wireless, Local Area Network, etc.

deliverables and Digital Delivery "D2" (Enterprise common Infrastructure, Data Center Infrastructure Billing, Compute, Storage, Managed Services, Automation, Backups, Security, etc) deliverables and milestones - oversee the day to day operations of the IP&DC and D2 teams, providing continuous service improvement through proactive response management

  • Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee training, performance assessments, work assignments, and recognition / administrative / disciplinary actions
  • Ensuring all SLA's are monitored and met on a day to day basis
  • Tracking and trouble-shooting issues, change controls acting as a point of escalation within the team, resolution of 2nd / 3rd line Systems issues
  • Maintains, updates team resource plan
  • Growing and maintaining the portfolio, including roadmap development to enhance our products and service delivery.
  • Understands content, processes, and procedures associated with implementing enterprise services. Writes standard operating instructions, functional requirements, develops test plans, and works with production issues.
  • Project initiation and scoping of business and technical requirements
  • Creation of SoW, design documentation, Visio diagrams, project plans
  • Working within the company Project Framework
  • Liaise and engages with relevant stakeholders including end client, business partners and other teams within EIT to promote capability of service
  • Other duties, as required from time to time, by the employer.

What you bring to the role

  • 3-4 years people manager experience required
  • Experience with Canadian Export Controlled security standards for data hosting
  • Experience of leading a variety of Projects and end-user facing service environments
  • Demonstrated leadership and relationship building skills with the ability to form partnerships to drive consensus, identify and address issues
  • Experience managing on-premise and off-premise (co-located) infrastructure Data Center environments
  • Experience with managing and supporting both Windows and Linux based environments
  • Experience managing and support various enterprise network, video and voice services
  • Experience with Hyper Scalers such as Amazon AWS and / or Microsoft Azure and connecting services to enterprise infrastructure
  • Demonstrated experience transforming Infrastructure operations through the use of automation
  • Experience of creating statements of work (SOW), detailed system designs / documentation
  • Ability to manage and focus team on agreed priorities, under pressure and to SLA
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills at both a technical and business level
  • Strong analytical problem solving skills
  • Self-motivated and strong can-do approach, team motivator
  • Delivery orientated team player
  • Experience of leading managing teams
  • Experience in management of operational and capital budgets

Additional skills desired for the role

  • ITIL Foundation, Prince 2 Foundation
  • Working within secure and export-controlled environments
  • Experience working with multi-matrix organizational structures with teams located in various geographies in the United States, EMEA and APAC
  • Development and full lifecycle support of Enterprise services including Routers, Switches, Firewalls, Exchange, SharePoint, Skype, Storage etc
