Financial Analyst - Recent Graduate

Location : Remote, Kingston, York Mills

Empire Life is looking to hire a recent graduate to join our team as a Financial Analyst!

What you’ll be working on

Assist in the preparation of working papers, statements, reports and surveys to support accurate financial reporting for a variety of internal and external stakeholders.

Monitor, review, analyze and reconcile accounts to ensure accuracy and proactively identify and report on variances.

Coordinate transactional investigation with other business units and implement timely adjustments when needed.

Assist in the analysis and forecast of the Company’s near term cash flow requirements and preparation for the instructions for external business partners to facilitate the movement of funds.

Actively facilitate the month-end close process and month-end analysis for various accounts.

Work with other Finance team members to continuously improve and automate team processes and templates.

What we’re looking for you to have

Nearing completion of your education in a relevant program such as accounting, finance, business administration, or math

Strong numerical literacy and ability to work confidently with numbers

Ability to think logically, analyze and solve problems

Strong attention to detail required

Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to collaborate and build relationships

Knowledge of spreadsheet, database, and word processing software

Experience with or the ability to learn new software / applications very quickly
