Job Summary :
The role is to work on process design and improvement for manufacturing to increase productivity and improve manufacturing flow.
Knowledge and Skills (Education) :
Post Secondary Education (Community College or Undergrad Degree) in the one of the following :Engineering
Manufacturing5-7 years experience in similar roleAbility to work independently, and draw from experienceKnowledge of technical specialties, capable of working with moderately complex proceduresFluent in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Powerpoint)Extensive working knowledge of CAD software (AutoCAD, Solidworks) for designing Assembly FixturesKnowledge of core tools, customer specific requirements and IATF16949 management systemKnowledge of ISO14001 & ISO45001 an assetMajor Accountabilities :
Consistently develop, assess and implement continuous improvement projects in relation to current or future project planning.Improves efficiency of process through; cycle time analysis and time studies.Analyze data and identify root causes of defects. Provide corrective actions in order to improve a particular process or product yield.Oversee ergonomics of the plant and guide Ergonomics team to make improvements to work centres.Complete safety walks daily and address any issuesMake improvements to the production process by using 5S, Root-Cause Analysis, and Poka-Yoke methodologies to improve the quality of products, reduce scrap, and eliminate waste.Solve the issues that are reported in LPAs on a daily basisAssist in developing P.F.M.E.A. / F.M.E.A. / P.C.P / and P.F.D'sUpdate program documentation, write reports, work instructions and procedure manuals as requiredDaily 5S Implementation - ensure cells are clean and schedule is being followedUpdate and maintain plant layoutDevelop manufacturing methods, labor utilization standards, and cost analysis systems to promote efficient staff and facility utilizationDevelop quotation of assembly equipment (welding and assembly) to give to estimators or program managersAbide by all company polices including, but not limited to the following; Health and safety, Quality and Environmental Systems , Human resources policies, and Martinrea Employee HandbookEnsure compliance with all applicable codes, standards and legislation including Environmental Legislation, O. Reg 851 for Industrial Establishments, and the Occupational Health and Safety Act (with emphasis on Section 28, (1) (a)-(d), (2) (a)-(c)).Working Conditions :
