To ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the Family Fun Zone, while providing excellent facilities for our guests through the effective supervision and direction of all Family Fun Zone colleagues.
MyGuest
- In collaboration with the Recreation Manager, supervise the day to day operations of the Family Fun Zone.
- Assist the Recreation Manager in maintaining all areas of the Recreation department.
- Ensure that guest service is a priority and the entire department is prepared to offer exceptional service to our guests.
- Create and follow up with all Recreation Event & Calendar planning and implementation.
- Provide lateral service throughout all Recreation Areas.
MyProduct
- Promote and participate in Comment Card Programs, helping ensure the success of the department.
- Develop and encourage the maintenance of a safe, clean and enjoyable environment for our guests and colleagues.
- To develop and encourage the maintenance of an energetic and dynamic environment in the Family Fun Zone.
- Ensure all equipment and facilities are in excellent operating condition by completing daily inspections.
- Ensure all areas of the Family Fun Zone & Deck 27 are operating within the provincial guidelines (Health Department and TSSA)
- Update services offered through the Recreation Department to ensure that the ones offered are the ones to best serve our Guests.
- Conduct in-stock inventories on a weekly basis. Proactively order supplies & products.
- Ensure that each area is staffed according to operational needs, coordinating break times and coverage.Work together with the Recreation Manager in creating a weekly work schedule for all Recreation Colleagues.

- Lead and direct the Family Fun Zone team.In the absence of the Recreation Manager lead and supervise the entire Recreation team.
- Be proactive and take ownership when dealing with internal conflicts and resolve situations. Inform the Recreation Manager of all issues and situations.
- Monitor colleague performance and provide recognition or corrective action, as required.
- In consultation with the Recreation Manager, prepare and present annual performance reviews to recreation colleagues.
- Hold weekly meetings with Manager to discuss operations, concerns, problems, ideas, etc.
- Conduct shift briefings with staff on a daily basis.
- Delegate daily tasks to recreation colleagues and ensure proper follow-up.
- Ensure that all colleagues and departments in the hotel are fully aware of special Recreation and in-house events / functions.
- Develop functional relationships with Laundry, Maintenance, Housekeeping, Human Resources, Purchasing and Marketing Departments.
- Report & follow up all maintenance issues with the Engineering Dept daily.
- Perform on-the-job individual and team training as needed to ensure that all colleagues have the adequate product, service and cleaning Knowledge.
Notify Manager / Director to rectify any lack in knowledge immediately.
MyChelsea
- Co-ordinate special events within the scope of Recreation.Assist in Hotel special events.
- Drive the Recreation Brand Standards and appropriate engagement and communication with guests and colleagues
- Ensure that all relevant information is provided to colleagues
- Record daily operations (Cleaning, Usage, materials, incidents, wow stories) in logbook every day
- Ensure that all communication with guests and colleagues is complete, accurate, engaging and positive.
- Maintain confidentiality of all guest information
- Work together with the Recreation Manager to schedule all monthly Dept. Meetings
- Participate in Recreation related Team projects
- Comply with Hotel Policies and Procedures.
- Comply with Health & Safety Regulations.
- Perform any other reasonable duties or tasks requested by management.
Requirement .
Working Experience
- Previous experience in hotels, child care, and / or pool facility
- Previous management or supervisory experience an asset.
Education
- High School graduate
- Post secondary education in related field
Knowledge
- Valid CPR / 1st Aid Mandatory
- NLS certification is a definite asset.
Soft Skills
- ability to communicate effectively with varied individuals

Languages
- proficient in English
- second language an asset
Physical Requirements
- Able to stand, walk, bend
- Able to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Able to sit on floor, kneel and all other activities associated with the care and entertainment of children
- Flexibility in regards to shifts / schedules.
- Must successfully complete background check.
