Location : Whitewater Ski Resort

Department : Indoor Operations

Reports to : Brand Director

Employment Status / Type :  Part-Time, Seasonal (20 hours week)

Compensation : $22-23 (DOE) alongside other perks and benefits.

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a key part of the Sales & Marketing team, you will be responsible for maintaining Whitewater’s strong brand presence through social media, and the creation of visual and written content. The role consists of supporting the Brand Director, the Sales & Marketing Coordinator, and the Events Coordinator in the implementation and execution of the resort's strategic marketing plan, with a specific focus on social media, content generation and visual / digital curation for marketing purposes.

As an employee of the Resort your mandate is to ensure our guests, working partners, and sponsors receive the best level of service possible, leaving them with a long-lasting, positively memorable experience at Whitewater Ski Resort.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Act as a Brand Ambassador of Whitewater Ski Resort.
  • Work with the Sales and Marketing Director and the Marketing Coordinator to execute and deliver on the overall resort goals as well as the strategic marketing plan in order to attract customers and help educate all existing customers on various programs and happenings at Whitewater.
  • Create consumable content for marketing collateral, social media channels, advertisements, and Resort partners.
  • Utilize strong storytelling skills to bring the Whitewater brand to life across a variety of platforms and mediums.
  • Curate content from a variety of Whitewater partners including athletes, photographers, videographers, writers and artists.
  • Photo and video asset management and tracking.
  • Oversee all Whitewater social media channels with support from the Sales & Marketing Coordinator and the Brand Director.
  • Provide support with media and public relations as required.
  • Act as an information resource, you must be familiar with all Whitewater and Nelson products, policies, and procedures. Example : In depth knowledge of Whitewater food and beverage, retail, and snow school offerings.
  • As a member of the marketing team this role will also be a key support for all Whitewater events.
  • Support Whitewater’s sustainability goals by collaborating on design and implementation of programs for waste reduction, energy efficiency, and environmental education.
  • Assist in all general administrative duties and other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / EDCATION :

  • 2 years of industry experience working in marketing, communications, or with social media within a business capacity.
  • Diploma in Marketing, Communications, or another relevant field.
  • Familiarity with video and camera equipment as well and photo and video editing software.
  • Proficient with website management, social media, and performance-measuring tools.
  • Proficient at reading and understanding Google Analytics an asset.
  • Experience adhering to brand standards with Adobe Creative Suite or other professional design software.
  • Experience with Google Suite, Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft Office, and other collaboration tools such as Canva.
  • Experience with Project Management software such as Basecamp is an asset.

  • Skiing or snowboarding at an advanced ability level is an asset.
