About the Role
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our engineering and operations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, maintenance, and optimisation of mechanical systems used in our blasting and coating operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant production processes.
This is a hands‑on role requiring strong technical knowledge, problem‑solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a busy industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, review, and optimise mechanical systems and layouts for blasting and coating operations.
- Supervise installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment such as compressors, blast pots, spray booths, rotators, and dust extraction units.
- Conduct preventive maintenance and reliability improvement programs.
- Analyse and improve mechanical processes for efficiency, safety, and cost‑effectiveness.
- Support quality assurance and inspection processes, including surface and coating testing.
- Develop technical documentation, reports, and improvement proposals.
- Contribute to environmental and WHS compliance within the workshop and project sites.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in an industrial coating, fabrication, or manufacturing environment.
- Sound knowledge of mechanical systems, surface preparation, and coating technologies.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar design tools.
- Understanding of Work Health and Safety and environmental regulations.
