What Is The Opportunity?
Reporting directly to the Subcontracts Manager within the commercial team, the Contract Administrator is responsible for administration, coordination, and management and follow up of the subcontract agreements and claims. The role supports procurement and project management teams, in particular liaising with measurable pay items / lump sum as a main point of contact with discipline leaders and the commercial team.
The individual must have the ability to work as part of the Commercial team, and collaborate with other departments of the organization, to deliver a successful project on time, on budget to the quality specifications established in the Project Agreement.
What You'll Do Here :
Assists Subcontracts Manager and Prime Contract Manager with subcontractor management.Track and manage subcontract deliverables, schedules, and performance metrics.Facilitate communication between subcontractors, internal teams, and project stakeholders to resolve issues and maintain positive working relationship.Review subcontract’s information following handover from procurement.Identifies and minimizes areas of contractual riskAdminister subcontractors together with Area Manager, monitor their performance and ensure compliance with subcontract requirements to commercial terms.Support the Subcontracts Manager in reviewing Requisitions for Change Orders to confirm compliance with the subcontract.Interact with engineering and construction departments to prepare monthly applications for payment both for the corresponding Subcontracts and Change Order measurable pay items / lump sum, provided with back up documents / field survey in accordance with contract terms.Close cooperation with cost control team to track, evaluate and monitor cost per applicable disciplines.Preparation of monthly costs / quantities accruals and forecast monthly incurred costs.Assist the Subcontracts Manager in conducting subcontract final account review and process back charges, including contractor requests for release of hold back and final payment, ensuring all documentation is received, and deficiencies are addressed.General contract administrationAny other duties and responsibilities as maybe assigned to him from time to time by the Subcontracts Manager and / or Prime Contract ManagerWhat You Bring to the Team :
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience with major subcontractors in roles dealing with management of forecasts and accruals, cost management and mitigation, claims and variations, negotiation and settlement of disputes with contractorsFamiliarity with project delivery models such as Design-Build, P3,etcInternational major contractors experience in joint venture environments preferredExperience operating at a Commercial Department of a major projectExperience managing packages worth $10 million or more.Degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or equivalent work experienceMust be legally eligible to work in CanadaExcellent oral and written communication skillsAbility to successfully administer multiple complex contracts at the same timeGood hands on technical, communication, organizational, supervisory and planning skillsWorking knowledge of contract language and legal requirements of contractsExpertise in documentation organizationExcellent people, leadership and organizational skillsExpert numerical competence and spreadsheet aptitudeAdvanced understanding of contractual, commercial, financial and Project controlsSalary Range - $85,000 - $100,000 per annum.
