Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced, evidence-based Chiropractor who is knowledgeable about exercise science, sports performance, and proactive health, personable, and passionate about helping people achieve their personal health goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Body Composition DEXA Scans (non-diagnostic): Operate DEXA scanning equipment to measure body composition, including measures of fat mass, lean mass, and total bone density. Analyze results and explain findings to members, answering their questions, and providing them with individualized takeaways and guidance.
- VO2 Max Testing: Conduct VO2 max and sub-max tests using specialized equipment to evaluate cardiorespiratory fitness and aerobic capacity. Interpret results and advise members on strategies to improve performance and health based on their results. Evaluate and adjust for any physical accommodations needed for each member.
- Physical Assessments: Perform comprehensive strength and stability assessments to help clients understand their current capabilities, and identify areas for improvement. Evaluate and adjust for any physical accommodations needed for each member.
- Health Education: Educate members on the importance of musculoskeletal health, body composition, and cardiovascular fitness in relation to longevity and healthspan. Share specifics around the metrics we assess, insights based on their individual results, and strategies to improve these metrics, drawing from your knowledge around these topics and the reporting and analysis we provide. Offer guidance on exercise, nutrition, and lifestyle adjustments to optimize health outcomes.
- Program Orientation: Help members get started with additional data tracking following their in-person, giving them an overview of what to expect, and helping them get set up with the apps and equipment they'll use.
Qualifications
- Education: Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) degree from an accredited institution required. An undergraduate education in kinesiology or exercise physiology is an asset.
- Licensing: Valid license to practice chiropractic in Ontario; in good standing with College of Chiropractors of Ontario.
- Insurance: Malpractice Insurance with Canadian Chiropractic Protective Association (CCPA).
- Experience: Prior experience working with patients in a clinical setting, ideally with a focus on functional medicine, sports medicine, or longevity.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in operating DEXA scanning and VO2 max testing equipment is a plus; however, training will be provided.
- Certifications: Annual CPR certification is required. Additional certifications in sports medicine, functional medicine, or related coaching are a plus, for example, Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS).
