Your Role :

We are currently seeking a  Senior Buyer / Expeditor  to join our team. This position is part-time / contract and is a remote position (Canada only), with a preference for candidates based out of Calgary, AB. Your responsibility will be managing the procurement process, ensuring timely delivery of materials and products, and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Expeditor Responsibilities :

  • Expedite orders as required to ensure that vendors meet the supply and delivery requirements of orders
  • Chair weekly package progress meetings with the vendors for all responsible packages, attend other meetings with stakeholders and the client as required
  • Maintain active RAIL for each package tracking all progress, RFIs, action items for all responsible parties
  • Expediting all vendor documentation / technical data received from vendors utilizing Oracle ACONEX software to ensure drawing exchanges do not delay scheduled equipment deliveries
  • Coordinate / manage third party SQS as required
  • Ensure all contract project purchasing administration procedures are followed and executed
  • Review project schedules to ensure all material is ordered as per schedule
  • Maintain and regularly issue expediting and purchasing reports as required by the project
  • Buyer Responsibilities :

  • Support Project Engineers and Estimators in preparation of estimates by contacting vendors for budgetary pricing for equipment and materials
  • Implement purchasing strategies covering purchase orders and contracts for professional services, and other service agreements required
  • Responsible for support and guidance to procurement team, Project Managers, and other project engineering disciplines, etc., on formation, implementation, and administration of purchase order and service agreement procedures
  • Responsible for assisting and advising Project Managers and Engineers with ongoing administration of contracts / purchase orders with clients
  • Qualifications :

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in the purchasing and expediting functions is required
  • University degree in supply chain or technical diploma / certificate in purchasing or related field an asset
  • Experience working in an EPC / ECPM environment an asset
  • Strong understanding of procurement processes, supplier management, and market analysis
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to work in a schedule-driven environment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
