Position Purpose
Reporting to the Senior Manager, IT Security, the incumbent designs, develops, implements, integrates, tests and manages solutions to support the University’s Identity and Access Management (IAM) business objectives. The role is involved in all phases of system analysis, planning, development and technical design university‑wide. The incumbent provides leadership and guidelines for solution implementation, ensuring use of best practices while adhering to university architectural standards. The role plans, estimates, prioritizes and assigns work to technical resources, supports and maintains operational applications, and drives application design, testing and improvement.
Responsibilities
Team Lead : Supervise a team of Senior Analysts to plan, estimate, prioritize and assign work to technical resources. Provide guidance on system development methods, design alternatives and technical options.
Planning, Design and Deployment : Work closely with the Product Manager responsible for IAM to provide design guidance based on an understanding of mission‑critical systems and their technologies.
Support and Consulting : Work closely with other technical and architecture teams to review options and existing functionality before customization. Provide documentation to justify and implement necessary customizations.
Project Management : Work with the Senior Manager and Product Manager to oversee system testing, performance and migration to production. Prepare controls, progress reports and risk‑mitigation plans.
Troubleshooting and Incident Response : Build relationships with stakeholders to troubleshoot and resolve system issues. Document problems, diagnoses and resolutions for contingency planning.
What you will bring
A University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum 7 years of experience in identity & access management, security, or a related area.
Minimum 5 years of experience in solution development, platform engineering, and implementation.
Advanced knowledge of programming and scripting languages (Java, JavaScript, Python, Node, PowerShell, etc.) and software engineering methodologies.
Strong understanding of IAM concepts, including access certification, RBAC, ABAC, identity lifecycle management and policy enforcement.
Extensive experience designing end‑to‑end business system solutions in a complex application and technology environment.
In‑depth knowledge of IAM protocols and standards such as SAML, OAuth, OIDC, LDAP, and SCIM.
Experience integrating IAM solutions with cloud and hybrid environments.
Experience working on large‑scale mission‑critical systems such as Saviynt.
Proficiency in IAM, SSO, MFA, PAM, and other access management solutions.
Experience with APIs, integrations, middleware and automation.
Proficiency in database management, including SQL and Oracle.
Strong analytical skills for complex problem solving – identification, diagnosis, resolution.
Leadership skills, ability to coach and mentor other IT professionals.
Knowledge of the University’s information technology policies, procedures and standards is an asset.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and relationship‑building skills with the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships at all levels.
Strong change‑management skills and adaptability to evolving technologies.
Bilingual – French and English (written and spoken).
