What is the Opportunity?
We are seeking an enthusiastic HVAC Engineer with experience supporting power generation and heavy industrial projects in either Edmonton, AB or Calgary, AB offices. The successful candidate will have experience in HVAC and plumbing system design / modification along with a working knowledge of fire protection systems.
Responsibilities
Design heating, ventilation, air‑conditioning (HVAC) and plumbing systems serving heavy commercial, industrial, and power industries.Apply knowledge of fire protection systems to support specification development, code review and basic suppression design.Perform equipment sizing, thermal load, ductwork sizing, piping pressure loss, potable water and sanitary calculations.Develop procurement specifications and prepare engineering drawings such as piping and instrument diagrams (P&ID), airflow diagrams, plumbing riser diagrams, equipment plans, piping orthographic and ductwork layout drawings.Establish material and workhour estimates to support proposal development.Exercise sound engineering judgment in assessing problem situations or complex issues, review completed work to ensure accuracy and compliance with codes and design criteria.What You Bring To The Team
Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from a four‑year accredited college or university.Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).Minimum 5 years of experience with the design of HVAC systems serving the power industry, heavy industrial and commercial industries.Experience with plumbing and fire protection within the power and heavy industrial industries is a plus.Proven knowledge in architectural principles and building codes.Professional Engineering (P.Eng) license in any province in Canada, and the ability to obtain additional licenses through comity would be considered an asset. Ability to obtain a license in any US state will be considered a strong asset.Strong computer analysis skills.Able to perform in a fast‑paced environment.Great problem solving, planning and organizational skills.Ability to prioritize tasks and work with timelines.Diversity and Inclusion
