Role

The Electrical Engineer / Technologist is a key member of the Electrical Engineering team at Saltworks. You will work closely with the Director of Electrical Engineering, senior engineers across various teams, and the production team to design and build our advanced systems. You will have ample learning opportunities in electrical design, equipment sourcing and selection, and commissioning our plants on customer sites.

Main tasks

• Drafting of electrical design drawings and other documentation including single line diagrams, load lists, cable schedules, and other related documentation.
• Generating detailed designs of 480 / 600V AC electrical power panels for industrial applications as well as 24V DC industrial PLC control panels.
• Generating electrical Bill of Materials (BOM) based on detailed specifications of electrical components including enclosures, Variable Frequency Drives (VFD), disconnects, circuit breakers, distribution blocks, fuse holders, fuses, transformers, cables, motor contactors, overloads, terminal blocks, and related field devices and equipment.
• Generating cable schedules based on equipment location and mechanical installation details.
• Ensuring engineering deliverables meet project requirements, internal standards, industry standards, and good engineering practices.
• Ensuring work packages, installation instructions, and required parts are in place ahead of the build schedule and resolving build inquiries with a sense of urgency.
• Supporting the Supply Chain team with procurement of electrical hardware components and equipment.
• Configuring various field devices including instrument transmitters and motor starters and adjusting VFD parameters.
• Performing pre‑commissioning checks on electrical panels, wiring, equipment, and instrumentation, including loop checks and insulation testing.
• Commissioning industrial control panels with voltages ranging from 24V DC to 600V AC.
• Red‑lining electrical drawings for as‑built changes.
