YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE

Reporting to the Production Geology Coordinator, you will be part of the Geology Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

  • Manage tasks and projects as assigned to the position by the Production Geology Coordinator;
  • Assist with the management of the underground delineation drilling program; including drill hole planning, ensure priorities and targets are reached, issuing logging priorities;
  • Update 3D models for production purposes, prepare 3D modelling priorities;
  • Get involved in the stope design process;
  • Assist with production block model generation;
  • Assist in planning underground production activities;
  • Assist in mine excavation layout approvals;
  • Assist with weekly, monthly and quarterly reports;
  • Participate in team meetings.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Geology or Geological Engineering;
  • Qualifications to register with NAPEG is required;
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in geology with a minimum of 3 years in underground production;
  • 3D modelling experience;
  • Experience in narrow vein gold deposit is considered an asset;
  • Underground Mining Modules / Formation Modulaire du travailleur Minier or equivalent is considered an asset;
  • Qualify for an Approval Letter for access to Explosives (or equivalent);
  • Knowledge of Datamine, Deswik, and DHLogger softwares is considered an asset;
  • Knowledge of geological production mining concepts and strong geological interpretation skills;
  • Working knowledge of all Microsoft Office software including Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.

Note that the official working language at Meliadine is English.
