Job description

The Role : As an RN in the Acute Care Unit, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care plans, as well as administering medications and performing diagnostic tests.

Responsibilities :

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans by the healthcare team's policies and procedures.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the healthcare team.
  • Perform diagnostic tests and interpret results to provide accurate patient assessments.
  • Monitor and document patient progress, vital signs, and medical history.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare team members to develop and revise patient care plans.
  • Educate patients and their families on disease processes, treatments, and preventative care measures.
  • Adhere to infection control and safety protocols.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation.
  • Participate in continuing education and training to stay current on healthcare trends and best practices.

Requirements :

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
  • Current, unrestricted RN license in your current province.
  • Minimum 15 months of acute care nursing experience.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
