The Hillman Group Canada is seeking a product marketing manager to help us grow into the next level.
In this role you will not only get to share and collaborate with your USA counterparts, but also conceive, source and develop products of your own to suit identified market needs. You would be part of a company selling over 1 billion dollars in hardware and related products globally. In Canada specifically, we are a leader selling to nearly all the leading the accounts in the DIY sector. You will have your own group of categories, where you can recognize trends, scan the market and then work to create products / programs to fulfill the opportunities you identify. You will have P&L ownership over your products and will be part of the team that takes your innovative ideas to our merchant partners.

Essential Job Functions
- Be the hub of knowledge about your channel and categories.
- Lead the development of new product business cases, financial forecasts, supply chain strategies, pricing, P&L structures, and go-to-market plans.
- Participate in the launch of new product to market as needed with clear considerations for total product lifecycle, channel, exclusivity, market and competitive landscape.
- Collaborate with finance department to achieve GM$ and GM% targets. Identifying cost-saving opportunities and managing portfolio P&L.
- Lead product introductions with retail accounts (Home Depot, CDN Tire, Rona, Home Hardware, etc.).
- Identify growth strategies based on consumer, category, and whitespace analysis.
- Work through existing portfolio efficiency in SKU cost, breadth, packaging etc.
- Understand the dynamics of competition, both direct / in-direct.
- End of life (SKU rat, brand rat, EO, sell-off and inventory turndown).
- Collaborate closely with sales team to generate ideas aligned with business objectives.
- Lead cross-functional teams to launch new products and manage projects related to implementation.
- Manage learning and training plans for consumer needs.

Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in marketing or the equivalent in education and experience.Five years related experience with product management.Competencies – Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of the hardware industry is an asset.Proficient in MS Office. Heavy use of Excel on a daily basis.Balanced offering of creative and analytical skills is an asset.Excellent organizational and planning skills; able to multi-task and meet deadlines.Strong project leadership experience with demonstrated success in managing multiple projects and P&L’s.Expertise with databases, market research, business and brand planning, advertising, finance, promotional activities, and consumer communications.Understanding of concepts, principles and practices in marketing and a working knowledge of practices in other areas including sales, finance and supply chain.Strong cross-functional strategic leadership and teamwork skills.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Required to visit customers / stores (driving and travel required, local and out of country).Other business travel when required.Work Environment and Physical Demands
