Our client, a leading architectural and engineering consulting firm in Ottawa, Ontario, is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join their team in Edmonton. This company works on a wide range of project types including commercial, residential, and municipal projects, and has a strong reputation for delivering excellence with regards to electrical engineering services.
THE ROLE
The Electrical Engineer will be involved in a wide range of tasks including :
- Perform analysis, design, and modeling of complex electrical building systems and elements for various construction projects.
- Ensure that elements of design, modeling, and detailing adhere to relevant jurisdictional codes and coordinate elements with architectural, mechanical, and structural engineering designs.
- Perform basic engineering activities such as calculations, code research, material and building systems research, laying out components, and calculation of program and building areas.
- Provide assistance to the architect by providing project change documentation during contract administration.
- Demonstrate an ability to collaborate with other professional disciplines.
- Assist with writing design reports, comparison of systems, and determination of system feasibilities.
- Perform fundamental engineering calculations to determine systems configuration and capacity.
- Conduct site surveys and field reviews to ensure accurate documentation of existing and new construction conditions.
- Provide guidance to junior engineers and technical staff assigned to a common task.
- Work with clients and stakeholders throughout project execution.
WHAT'S REQUIRED
Possesses at least 7-10 years of electrical engineering and design experience.Is a Licensed Professional Engineer.Must have excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, able to work independently and take a lead role.Demonstrate an understanding of quality standards relative to electrical design and planning, engineering fundamentals, and principles.Must possess knowledge of Electrical Safety Code regulations for relevant jurisdiction.Is proficient in MS Office applications and CAD software, including AutoCAD.Demonstrate an ability to collaborate with other professional disciplines.WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU
