Salary : $85k+ depending on experience

OUR CLIENT

Our client, a leading architectural and engineering consulting firm in Ottawa, Ontario, is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join their team in Edmonton. This company works on a wide range of project types including commercial, residential, and municipal projects, and has a strong reputation for delivering excellence with regards to electrical engineering services.

THE ROLE

The Electrical Engineer will be involved in a wide range of tasks including :

  • Perform analysis, design, and modeling of complex electrical building systems and elements for various construction projects.
  • Ensure that elements of design, modeling, and detailing adhere to relevant jurisdictional codes and coordinate elements with architectural, mechanical, and structural engineering designs.
  • Perform basic engineering activities such as calculations, code research, material and building systems research, laying out components, and calculation of program and building areas.
  • Provide assistance to the architect by providing project change documentation during contract administration.
  • Demonstrate an ability to collaborate with other professional disciplines.
  • Assist with writing design reports, comparison of systems, and determination of system feasibilities.
  • Perform fundamental engineering calculations to determine systems configuration and capacity.
  • Conduct site surveys and field reviews to ensure accurate documentation of existing and new construction conditions.
  • Provide guidance to junior engineers and technical staff assigned to a common task.
  • Work with clients and stakeholders throughout project execution.

WHAT'S REQUIRED

  • Possesses at least 7-10 years of electrical engineering and design experience.
  • Is a Licensed Professional Engineer.
  • Must have excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, able to work independently and take a lead role.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of quality standards relative to electrical design and planning, engineering fundamentals, and principles.
  • Must possess knowledge of Electrical Safety Code regulations for relevant jurisdiction.
  • Is proficient in MS Office applications and CAD software, including AutoCAD.
  • Demonstrate an ability to collaborate with other professional disciplines.
