The Opportunity :
The Driver Coordinator is the main point of contact for their fleet by coaching, assisting and providing solutions to problems to maximize productivity of the drivers.
Key Accountabilities :
Participating in and supporting driver retention initiativesMaintaining fair and equitable distribution of workCommunicating dispatch information as requiredMonitoring driver performance / miles and reefer requirementsMonitoring and responding to driver satellite messagesAssisting with the development of the required driver skills i.e. : Customs, Hazmat, Hours of Service, Policy, Regulations, Satellites, etc.Assisting with solutions regarding any driver concernsAssisting with driver inquiries - payroll, miles etc.Updating customer websites relative to the position / shiftCommunicating and problem solving with customers as requiredPerforms other duties as requiredWhat You Need To Be Successful In This Role :
Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in a related role in transportation (e.g. dispatch)Post-secondary degree or diplomaKnowledge of truckload dispatch an assetACE and Customs / border crossing experience an assetAS400 / ICC experience an assetExceptional interpersonal skillsStrong attention to detailGood communications skills (written and verbal)Strong self-discipline and initiativeCreative and effective problem solving abilityAbility to work with minimal supervisionWell-organized, enthusiastic, professional and a positive team member
